Counterfeit Food

 

We are familiar with counterfeit designer handbags, replica Swiss watches, but now fake food?

United Press International just reported that police in Rome seized shipments of wine and tomato products from China, labeled “Made in Italy.”

The report says $446,000 worth of goods were seized…

On a local note, while cruising through the grocery store yesterday, I picked up a bag of frozen store-brand vegetables labeled “California-Blend”.  When I looked at the fine print on the back of the bag, it read origin: China.

Where do we go from here?
