Green Coffee Bean Extract Weight-Loss Scam

ConsumerLab.org reports that 50% of Green Coffee Bean Extract Supplements DO NOT deliver expected amounts of key ingredients: chlorogenic acids, associated with weight loss.

Keep in mind, roasting coffee beans removes the chlorogenic acid. The mechanism of theses acids is unproven and too much caffeine (from supplement use) can cause insomnia, irregular heart beat and may react with medications or other supplements. In addition, withdrawal can create a caveat of problems.

The problem is that when it comes to supplements, there is no standardization required by law. I am not saying that all supplements don’t work, just that you may not always get the benefits you were hoping for. It’s important to do your own research: find out key ingredient, dosage, source, origin…

Also, waiting to see if green coffee bean extract supplement companies will invest in more weight loss research to prove they work. More research is needed. Save your money.
